- Major class action litigation
- High levels of client contact and responsibility
- Drafting, advising, pleadings and submissions
- Attendance at mediation and Court hearings
Skills and experience
- 5-10 years’ experience with construction or insurance dispute experience
- A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to provide excellent client-focused service
- Solid business acumen and ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
- Experience in the High Court and Weathertight Homes Tribunal preferred (a background in other areas of litigation would also be considered)
- Superior drafting ability
- Qualifications/knowledge of the property industry, science or engineering an advantage
- The ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

We have an exciting opportunity for a junior solicitor with approximately one to three years’ experience to join the team in our busy Auckland City office, and be involved in high profile and interesting work.
With opportunities for learning and exposure not often afforded to junior solicitors, we offer interesting and varied work combined with great working hours, and the opportunity to earn above market remuneration.
You will be involved in a range of legal matters, including major class action litigation, and can expect high levels of responsibility and mentorship. The role will require you to assist with all aspects of litigation, including managing files, liaising with clients and other parties, drafting correspondence, pleadings and submissions, and attending mediation and Court hearings.
The Ideal You
A background in civil or commercial litigation is an advantage, but is not essential. If you are interested in working in litigation and have the qualities below, we will support you to make this transition.
You will have a strong and client-focused work ethic and good business acumen. You will be confident, motivated and have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). You will be reliable, and must be able to work independently and well organised to manage a varied work load effectively.
